Work Experience
I am currently employed by PBGH, LLP. I am a Supervisor accountant for this
CPA firm located in Harrisonburg. I would like to take this opportunity to thank
PBGH, LLP for allowing me to pursue my duty to public service. In addition to
income tax preparation, I have specialized in small business consulting
including providing assistance with training, maintaining, and implementing
accounting software. I have also completed internal control evaluation and
consulting for local governments across the state.
I was also a Controller for 2 different companies. I handled the day to day
activities and supervised accounting staffs. This manager experience will
serve me well with the staff at the Treasurer's office.
Family
I have been married to my extraordinary wife Susan (Hippeard) for 14 years.
Susan grew up in Staunton and is a Lee High and Virginia Tech graduate.
Together we have 3 children - Kelly, 6th grade at Shelburne Middle, Matthew,
5th grade at Thomas Dixon, and Emily, a new kindergartner at Thomas Dixon.
It is these roots that drive me to pursue my civic duty for the city where we live.
Civic Involvement
I have been president of an area Ruritan Club. I am currently the Webelos II
cub scout den leader as well as assistant Cub Master for Pack 30. I am a
Trustee for Second Presbyterian Church and Sunday School teacher.
